Think Outside the Wine Bottle

What a couple of past years we’ve been through, huh?… First Covid, then the supply chain crisis, labor shortage, inflation, war, and now an apparent pending recession. Who’s calling time out from this seemingly endless torrent of change and challenges?

Fortunately, ‘on-premise’ businesses, aka bars and restaurants, are not only on the mend but have shown their true resilience, with the Wall Street Journal just reporting that employment at restaurants has gone back to prepandemic levels.   Not surprisingly, caterers, on premises servers, and wedding planners have had a banner year with 30% more weddings in 2022 than in pre pandemic years.

But this resurgence back has come at a cost. At restaurants, pay has risen along with benefits. Wedding costs have gone sky high as well.

Then the icing on the cake has been the extreme weather this past year, from hot to cold, that has made us much more aware of climate change. Words like fossil fuel free, low carbon, and net zero are showing up on ads that you would hardly see a year ago.

The wine industry along with wine industry jobs has been evolving amidst these ebbs and flows of the economy and what's going on in the world and with our environment, just as wine drinking consumers' behavior and buying habits have adjusted.

Consumers, and businesses, are thinking about their pocketbooks when making wine purchase decisions. But they don’t want to sacrifice taste. And mindfulness of how each decision we make impacts the environment is becoming ever-present.

This is why we’re launching Populaire Wines.

We don’t want to sacrifice taste, our environment, or our budget when buying wine. In doing so, the world of wine is turning to alternative packagings, such as wine in kegs.

Whether you work at a restaurant,  bar, or hotel, or are a caterer, event planner, or wedding planner, consider using wine in a keg.  When operating a business there are many advantages to using keg wine such as:

-        wine on tap (and its bubbles) stays fresh for longer

-        business are shown to run smoother as it is an easier process

-        eco friendly packaging

-        being a green business is not only a new trend but also an expected way of running a business

-        kegs reduce the cost and weight of packaging compared to bottled wine

The higher awareness of climate change and how people are the direct link to these changes are encouraging more individuals to think about how their purchases can affect the world.  According to the business wire, there is a 78% higher chance of individuals buying a product if it is environmentally friendly.

There is a heightened interest in wine that tastes good and has a good price point but also fits in better with our changing world (eg sustainability, lifestyle - wine in cans.)    ‘think out of the bottle’

If you have an on-premise establishment or are a caterer, event, or wedding planner, contact us to start using wine in kegs as an on premises solution.
